As Liverpool celebrates Pride this month, we're reminded that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard and respected, every day.

For us, inclusion is about creating spaces where people feel safe to be themselves.

That's what happens when you ask a room full of Year 10 students to spend the next 90 minutes with two people they've never met before. Friends grouped close together, eyes were firmly fixed on the floor and if there was an opportunity to avoid being picked to answer a question, they were going to take it.

We’ve previously worked with LFC Foundation, Friends of Springfield Park, and Friends of Norris Green Park to produce and host similar community spaces. We realised how quickly kids just want to have a go. If you make the space, they’ll more than likely come.

Meeting new people, learning new information, and investing in our communities, is at the very heart of what we do, so of course we spent the evening with Ignite Liverpool, and had a ball!

What’s surprised me most since launching is how much of starting a business has nothing to do with business at all.

It’s learning how to trust your instincts. Learning how to handle uncertainty.
